Bolts are used to connect two objects tightly together at a certain Angle, so far, has produced a variety of bolts, square head, hexagonal, cross concave, etc., and we want to understand today is the square head bolt, as a member of the fastener and many bolt family, what is the difference?

Ⅰ. Introduction to square head bolts

A square head bolt is a special shape fastener, often used for large pressure surfaces or special assembly needs. The biggest feature of the square head bolt is that its head is square or rectangular, such a design is not accidental, but for practical considerations. The contact area between the square head and the matching wrench is larger, which can better disperse the force and reduce the risk of slipping, especially in small spaces or when large torque is required.

In addition to the difference in appearance, square head bolts also have their unique functionality features. They are often used in structures that require strong fixing and long-term stability, such as heavy machinery, bridge construction, railway track connection, etc., and the square head is more closely matched with the hole, which can effectively prevent the bolt from rotating under vibration or heavy pressure, ensuring the safety and durability of the connection.

Ⅱ.  The composition of square head bolts

The bolt is usually composed of a nut and a screw connection, the screw is provided with a thread, the cross section of the vertical central axis of the nut is square, and the nut can be held by tools such as a wrench.

Ⅲ. The advantages of square head screws

Square-headed screws can withstand a lot of pressure without breaking or otherwise being damaged. Therefore, many manufacturing companies, as well as many construction companies, use square-headed screws to attach heavy objects. Because they are longer and thicker than other screws, lag screws provide a higher level of performance. Their rugged nature keeps them in place even under the pressure of heavy objects.

In addition to excellent strength and durability, square-headed screws are also durable. Typical square-headed screws have a high-carbon steel core and are externally galvanized. The presence of galvanized zinc protects the underlying steel of the legal screws from rust and corrosion. Moisture and oxygen do not easily penetrate galvanized zinc, so square-headed screws generally do not rust or corrode. They can last for decades while providing a high degree of security stability to the objects that use them.

Ⅳ. Application

Engineering and construction

Square head bolts play a vital role in the construction of large engineering projects. They are widely used in bridge hoisting, steel structure reinforcement after welding, concrete formwork fixing and other fields, strong tensile and shear properties make them the trusted choice of engineers.

Manufacturing industry

Square head bolts are ideal for mechanical equipment that needs to carry high loads. In terms of heavy machine tools, conveyor line supports, mold fixing, etc., they can withstand repeated shocks and vibrations without damage, ensuring the smooth operation of the production line.
